Job Title:  Camp Med-tech

Qualifications:

1. Pre-nursing or pre-med student or other related healthcare experience required.
2. Experience working or volunteering in a healthcare setting, knowledge of glucose meters, and infection prevention and blood borne pathogen protocols. 
3. Current CPR and First Aid Certification required.
4. Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
5. Ability to work independently and take direction from others.
6. Desire to live and work in a camp community.

Essential Functions:  The med-tech is responsible for maintaining the camp meter quality control program, stocking and inventory of diabetes supplies, set-up and clean-up of blood glucose/ketone testing stations and providing oral treatment of hypoglycemia to campers during routine pre-meal test and shot times and select camp activities.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily glucose and ketone meter QC testing, notify DMS of malfunctioning equipment or other problems associated with functionality of devices.
2. Clean, stock, organize test totes, night carts and testing backpacks daily.
3. Set-up and manage low blood sugar station, including camper treatment and documentation during daily test and shot times.
4. Coordinate weekly health house food and supply requests and pick-up from the food service manager.
5. Maintain weekly inventory of diabetes supplies and insulin stock.  Notify DMS Thursday evening indicating “critically low” supplies.
6. Assist with preparation of final end-of-summer diabetes supply inventory, clean and pack glucose meters, deconstruct totes, fanny packs and backpacks for storage.
7. Follow all camp policies, procedures, rules, health and safety regulations.
8. Maintain confidentiality of all campers and staff PHI. 
9. Attend weekly general and medical staff meetings.
10.  Participate in camp activities as possible.
11. Other duties/assignments requested by Health House leadership.
