Job Title:  Camp Nurse/Health House Staff

Qualifications:

1. Current Oregon RN license, or RN board eligible, or Student Nurse.
2. Current CPR and First Aid Certificate required.
3. Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
4. Previous camp nurse experience preferred.
5. Ability to work independently and take direction from others.
6. Desire to live and work in a camp community.

Essential Functions:  The camp nurse is responsible for supervising camp health and cleanliness standards while providing care in collaboration with camp providers (MD, DO, PA, NP) and other members of the medical team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Clean, stock and organize Health House prior to camp opening and ongoing throughout camp season.
2. Prepare pre and post camp inventory of all medical supplies.
3. Conduct weekly health screening of incoming campers; review with parent(s) and camper Diabetes Health History, identify other medical conditions, special needs and medications used other than insulin.
4. Collaborate with camp providers and review each camper’s health history to establish a treatment plan.
5. Communicate relevant information about campers with special medical/social needs and concerns to counseling staff.
6. Administer care to campers following established protocols under the supervision, direction and collaboration of camp providers.
7. Conduct triage assessment of camper medical needs and present to camp provider. 
8. Assist/observe/document camper’s routine preparation and administration of insulin and routine pump care.
9. Administer routine and prn medications as prescribed by camp provider.
10. Follow all camp policies, procedures, medical protocols, health and safety regulations.
11. Maintain confidentiality of all campers and staff PHI. 
12. Attend weekly general and medical staff meetings.
13.  Participate in camp activities as possible.
14. Other duties/assignments requested by Health House leadership.
